Volunteer to help with Fifth Grade Activities!

Dear Fifth Grade Parents-

 
Below you will find information on all of the exciting things in the year ahead for our fifth graders!
 
Fun Fridays
Now that our fifth graders are settled into their new routines and have gotten the hang of changing classes, it’s time to let the fun begin! We plan on kicking off the fun this Friday with Crazy Hair Day for the first “Fun Friday”! Have your kids wear their 5th grade t-shirts and let them get creative with their hairstyle! Please see the calendar below for each monthly “Fun Friday”.

Parent Volunteer Opportunities
There will be plenty of opportunities for parents to volunteer with various activities throughout the year. Here are some of our immediate needs:
 
Yearbook Photographers (Preferably two from every class)- Photograph special 5th grade events and in-class events. Post pictures to yearbook shutterfly account.
 
Community Service committee:
– Fall Service project (3 volunteers)- Organize and implement fall service project.
– Hoops for Hope Volunteers- Committee volunteers.
– Spring service project (2 volunteers)- Organize and implement spring service project.
 
Class Gift (1 volunteer)- Work with Mr. Chase on identifying what would be a good class gift within budget.
 
Talent Show (3 volunteers)- Create lyrics to a popular song for kids to perform at talents show and lead 3 rehearsals.
 
Below are our volunteer needs that we will be sending out requests as each event gets closer:
Breakfast Social volunteers (two breakfast socials)
Winter Social chaperones (end of January)
Spring Social volunteers (beginning of June)
Activity Day chaperones at Shelton SportCenter (end of May)
Graduation Committee (2 volunteers)–take this out..we have 3 people already
